In order to preserve botanic diversity, public gardens are expanding their leadership role in restoration, conservation and long-term sustainability of forests, prairies, wetlands and streams, and even entire watersheds. Partnerships with other conservation organizations can expand gardens’ influence far beyond their own walls by protecting the natural lands that surround their communities. In this session, hear from three different organizations – an arboretum, a land conservancy and a wildlife sanctuary – about how they have engaged their communities in local and national conservation initiatives, and explore ways that your garden can become an active participant in these efforts.
