The roots of your garden may be fed by in-kind donations from your community. Plants and materials are regularly offered to public gardens, and each garden must decide on criteria for accepting or rejecting offered gifts. Gifts accepted should fit the needs of the garden, and not solely the desires of the donor. The ideal in-kind donation satisfies both. Do offered donations fit the needs of your organization and its mission? Learn how other gardens have dealt with donations of living plants, from cacti to orchids to bonsai.
